_Recycle Extravaganza

April 30, 2022, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Village of Glen Ellyn's Environmental Commission will host the Annual Recycling Extravaganza, held Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The event will take place at the College of DuPage in parking lot #6 (southwest corner of campus).

  • From Lambert Road: Turn West onto College Road
  • From Park Blvd: Turn West onto College Road
  • From Fawell Blvd: South on Lambert to College Road

This annual recycling event provides the public with the opportunity to bring items to be recycled, reused and kept out of landfills.  

Please bring non-perishables for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

Items for Recycling

  • Junk Luggers:  All electronics free with exception of TVs (any type), which are $30 to recycle.
  • Cub Scout Pack 382: American Flags
  • SCARCE: Books, LP Records, Holiday Lights, Inkjet Cartridges (No toner cartridges), Smoke Detectors, Brita water filters & Brita water pitchers, Keys: household, car & luggage
  • DART: Block-style packaging foam (comes with appliances, electronics, etc.) foam ice chests/coolers, foam cups, clean take-out food service foam products/clam shells. No packaging peanuts. 
  • Working Bikes: Bikes, Helmets, Accessories
  • Lions Club: Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids
  • Fluorecycle: Fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs
  • Flat Can Recycling:  Propate Tanks and Aerosol Cans, Aerosol products, Sobutane (3.53oz - 16oz tanks only), Propane (16oz = 1lb only)

Oil-based pain and stain:

Pails: $20.00 Quart cans: $3. Gallon cans: $5 Five gallon buckets: $15.
No commingling of liquids in five gallon paint buckets. Credit cards, cash or check will be accepted.
